The interview with Ruben Pinuelas by Zoë Grandy covers Pinuelas’s experience of his initial prison experience, his wrongful conviction, his time in solitary confinement, his struggle to leave prison, and his life after prison. Pinuelas endures the police and legal system entrapping him, learns law in solitary, and proves his own innocence. He then takes this education of law to begin his own journey into the legal field. Pinuelas saw an issue in the legal system and hopes to address the change himself by becoming a first a trial attorney, then judge and/or a law professor. He has faith in the legal system and has faith in himself and the good people in the legal system who want to make change. All this, and more is covered in his interview.
