In this interview with Deborah Crawford, former chief of investigations for the Federal Public Defender’s Office and former investigator for the Loyola Project for the Innocent, we discuss her role in overturning Obie Anthony’s guilty verdict as she talks about her experience with the case and criminal justice system as a whole. Ms. Crawford provides an overview of how investigators conduct their research in overturning wrongful convictions, investigator’s relationships with their clients, police, and attorneys, as well as her own view on how investigators are helping to reshape public perceptions of the criminal justice system with increased accountability and compassion.
